How many treatments do I need?
Everybody reacts differently to acupuncture. Generally, facial acupuncture is recommended 1-2x a week for at least 8-12 treatments to see results. This allows the body the proper amount of time to repair the dermis and give long-lasting results to the skin. Maintenance treatments are recommended depending on the individual.
Can I just get one facial rejuvenation treatment?
Absolutely! You can get Facial Acupuncture or microneedling just once if you want, but results will not last as long as doing a full course of treatment. Even if the results of the treatment are very dramatic, the results will not last. It takes about 5 weeks to affect the dermis, which is what causes dramatic and lasting results.
Are there any side effects of facial acupuncture?
Facial acupuncture is safe and gentle with no downtime needed. It is a chemical-free, natural approach to anti-aging, without the side effects, risks and downtime of more invasive cosmetic procedures. Most patients do not experience any discomfort. However, a minor bleeding, bruising or puffiness may occasionally occur. This isn't common, and we've trained extensively to minimize bruising. However, it's always a possibility.
Is there anyone who can't have facial acupuncture?
Yes, if you are pregnant, have had any facial procedures (botox, filler, peels, surgeries, etc.) done recently, or if you get migraines/chronic headaches, then it's not the right time to receive facial acupuncture.
Is there anything I need to do before a treatment to prepare?
We always recommend having a small meal and ample water an hour or two before any acupuncture treatment. We also suggest removing all make-up prior to your appointment.
Can I get facial acupuncture if I have botox/filler?
Yes absolutely, we just recommend waiting 4 weeks post-botox-treatment to get facial acupuncture and to be as detailed as possible in your intake with us.
